How do I upgrade iMac10.15.2 to Catalina? iMac running slow, so got Intego Security to clean up, but they want Mac on Catalina.

You can't run Catalina on a 2009 iMac. It doesn't have the hardware to support it.
If it's a Late 2009 iMac you should be able to upgrade to High Sierra.

Try running EtreCheck and post the report.

El Capitan is 10.11.6. Catalina is 10.15.2. I wouldn't bother with Intego. What year is your iMac?

You're welcome. A 10+ year old iMac may have a failing hard drive. That's why the EtreCheck report might be useful. Enable Full Disk Access.
