You already have the answer - but if you insist upon seeing the presence of GPS hardware on your device, you can install an appropriate App to confirm presence of specific hardware features.
Take a look at System Status Pro: hw monitor - available from the Apple App Store - which can show you something like this:

If your iPad is a WiFi & Cellular model - then it will have aGPS capabilities. If by contrast your iPad is a WiFi Only model, then your iPad does not have built-in GPS.
For iPad, aGPS (Assisted GPS) features are an integral part of the Cellular chipset. Position information is derived from a network lookup of CellID, known WiFi networks and GPS positioning.

It can be difficult to search effectively for things you don't know much about. This is were I find Wikipedia to be useful. It's not the be all and end all of references but, it can often give you enough information to start understanding what kinds of terms you should be using when you search.
I ask because I searched google and also asked Siri and tried several various ways to find a guide to check and the answers are at best ambiguous and obscure.
But how do I look on my Ipad and tell if it has GPS
Is there a place in the systems specs that tell you if it is or is not so equipped?
