whatsapp messages are not delivering to my iphone

Dear Experts,

I have a notification problem only on whatsapp after installing iOS 13.3 update.

Notifications and messages which have sent from people to my phone are not appearing in the locked screen.

If whatsapp app is open on background, i can get notifications in a short time period. But if my phone is locked and the app isn't running on the background the notifications aren't appearing on screen.

I tried every possible things except restoring to factory settings which I don't prefer, however I couldn't solve the problem.

I searched in this community and saw other people facing with this problem but I couldn't find any solution.

I even called apple service and they couldn't help me with this problem.

So, my notification settings aren't changed in a while and it was OK before the 13.3 update, my phone isn't on "do not disturb" mode, I reinstalled whatsapp million times and rebooted phone billions of times. I searched through whatsapp support and they tell about Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) in this link https://faq.whatsapp.com/tr/iphone/20950116/ .

"If you have verified that your notification settings are correct in both iPhone settings and WhatsApp settings and you do not receive notifications, this is more than likely an issue with your connection, iOS or Apple's Push Notification Service.

Please note that delivery of notifications is controlled entirely by Apple's Push Notification Service (APNS), and WhatsApp has no way to resolve issues with this service. If someone sends you a message while you are offline, that message will be sent to APNS to be delivered to your phone. WhatsApp has no control or visibility over the delivery of these notifications. The issue may be presenting itself in WhatsApp, but the issue derives from APNS or the iOS."

So I think source of my problem is about APNS, but I can't do anything about it and It sucks.

Currently I'm trying to backup my whatsapp chat history, but I'm not able to get a back up because of some stupid issues. It randomly stops and never continues...

So dear experts, altough some people say "It's not working even if you restore to factory settings." I'm gonna try to restore to factory settings if you don't have any other solutions.

Phone Specs: iPhone 7+ 32 GB iOS 13.3

I restored to factory settings too. First, I restored the back up files but it didn't fix my problem so I restored again and set it as a new iPhone, finally it fixed notifications.

For me full restore worked. I backed up the phone to my laptop and full restored to iOS 13.3.1 and then restored the backup to my phone so everything working fine now. All data backed up as well.

iPhone 7 - 128GB

Restored to IOS 13.3.1.

The issue is with IOS 13.3:Whatsapp, Outlook, Facebook messenger, lots of other applications no longer supply notifications or raise message flags in the background, even when all the notification switches are set correct.

You have to bring up the app into the foreground to get your messages synchronized or updated.

This is not really a huge problem regarding messages, but when you expect a voice call through one of these apps, this *is* a problem since *you* don't get a signal someone is calling, neither do you get notifications that you missed calls until you bring the app back into the foreground :(

The only advise i can give is to swap over to Telegram which is a similar service and does not show these issues (it even works when you have an active VPN connection running), or they simply adjusted their app to comply to Apple's new security conditions.

Whatsapp support says “The source of the problem is either iOS or APNS. We can’t do anything about it.”

Its happening the exact same thing to my iPhone 6s. And its updatede to 13.3.1.

Ive tried everything, just like you. Its so annoying!!! I really hope Apple tech guys could fix it soon!

I have the same problem with WhatsApp after 13.3 update on my iPhone 7+ 128 GB.

I tried everything but it seems the problem is there with the WhatsApp and notifications.

There were problem with outlook as well but somehow that figured out but WhatsApp problem is still there.

I will be watching this thread, please post if anyone find solutions to this problem. Its very annoying to open WhatsApp every time to receive message. Even WhatsApp calls are not ringing and converted to miss calls. :(

I too have contacted WhatsApp support after facing the same problems and WhatsApp have advised its an Apple update problem. Please do an update to fix this as I am missing important messages from people thanks to this recent update!
