iBooks menu

I open a pdf or other document and the menu bar disappears. How do I bring it up so can return to my library?

iPad Pro, iOS 13

I am stuck in iBooks. How do I get back to library. Tapping on screen doesn’t do it. (Just makes the document bigger or smaller) There is no menu. In fact there is nothing on the screen but the document. It is not the document as I have had the problems on other items in iBooks in the past.

Library menu unhidden... Is the library menu supposed to be viewable without the 'hold option' command? If not how did this come about and how to fix it ...?

Functionality lost when going from IBooks author to Pages. I was creating a syllabus with links, pop-ups, etc.. in IBooks author. Apple has moved this stuff to Pages. But when I or someone else opens my syllabus in Pages, none of the links or pop ups work. Is there a remedy?

Tapping on the PDF brings up the menu bar.
