Catalina: Music displays not-downloaded music when in "Only Downloaded Music"

On MacOS Catalina (10.15.2), the Music app (Version 1.0.2.37) displays more than just the downloaded music if I check the menu option "View" -> "Only Downloaded Music".

This is very annoying if you have a larger library.

Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Found a workaround:

  • Shut down Music App
  • Delete entire library from drive (e.g. in Finder)
  • Start Music App and in the Preferences turn off "Sync Library"
  • Show all songs in a list, select them all and delete them
  • (This will ask if you really want to delete them from your Music Library. With the "Sync Library" turned on, this would instead delete the songs from your iCloud library)
  • Turn on "Sync Library" in the Preferences again
  • Now, you can download your favourite albums and songs again, turn on "View" -> "Downloaded Music Only", and it will display exactly those.
