When trying to delete the user on mac: option " Save the home folder in a disk image" gives an error.

The error says "unable to backup the user account. An error occurred while backing up this user's home folder"

How do I delete a user form mac and archive her home folder ?

When you retain the user's files this way, you need additional space on the boot drive to store a Disk-Image of the Users's files. If space is tight, you can't do it.


A MUCH better approach is to have a full Trusted Backup of the machine, including that User. Then you can use Migration Assistant to restore selected Users to your new machine when you get it.
