Occationally cmd D stoppes working for several apps on my macbook pro. Both for iTerm and for intellij it works when I open the application, but then stops working after using it a couple of times.
For bookmarking in browsers it continues working.
I have just received a new macbook pro and I experience the same problem there.

Third party software you will have to ask their support team.
