iLife 11 on Catalina??

Will iLife 11 work on Catalina?? I want to try and get back iDVD for burning iMovies to DVD. I will find it on Amazon and purchase it to get this done.

If it will not work on Catalina, what OS will I have to go back to that it will work with? I really only bought this new iMac because the old one is having import issues with video from iPhone X XR. If I have to go back to Sierra or Mojave to get iDVD functional again, I will happily do that.

Any suggestions on the best way to do that? I just bough the new iMac so I am more than willing to wipe it clean and do a fresh install of the old OS. Just not real sure how to do it properly.

Any help is greatly appreciated for a Grandpa who is running out of iPhone storage with seven active grandkids.

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.13

No. Neither iDVD nor iWeb will work with Catalina. Both are 32 bit apps and Catalina only supports 64 bit apps.

You have two options;

1 - get an external HD or make a partition on your internal HD and install an older system so you can boot into it when you want to create a video DVD. High Sierra would be a good choice.

2 - go to the App Store and search for video DVD. That will present you with a number of potential video DVD authoring candidates that are 64 bit. If you create DVDs with both still Photos and videos there are two apps that you should investigate: Wondershare DVD Creator and DVD Maker Lite - DVD Creator. Both have demo versions that you can use before purchasing it. The demo version puts a watermark over the presentation and is removed with the paid version.
