Photos lost

Hi. Since ios 13.xxx I started experiencing that photos just taken are not saved to the camera roll nor icloud. I have Icloud sync on, with the optimize space option enabled. But I try disabling it with the same results. I have an iphone 11 pro max 256, but my wife is on the iphone X experiencing the same behavior.

Anything I should try to make it work as in the past? I hate the idea of keep losing pictures. It misses the point of having a great camera on the phone.
