Can't connect iPad 3 to internet

Lost ability to connect iPad 3 to internet. Suspect software corruption. Have backed everything up. Now can't do a factory reset or turn off "find my iPad" without an internet connection. Anyone have any idea what I should do now? My WiFi connection is OK as can connect other devices with no problems.
