Keep in mind that the default for AppeID 2 FA codes is as an encrypted iCloud push notification sent to all of your trusted devices. So if you have any other Apple trusted devices (iPad, iPod Touch, Mac) you can also get the code on that device.


But without an Apple trusted device to receive the push notification, you would need to set up a trusted backup SMS capable or voice telephone number before the issue arises. You can use any SMS capable cellular number, regardless of device or operating system, or any land line voice number, or any VOIP service (Ooma, Skype, Google Voice).
