Is there a way to stop certain irrelevant and unsettling ads in the News app? There are specific ad images that are highly unpleasant to see and make me not want to continue using the app. Any way to stop these specific ads?

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with the ads you see inside of the Apple News app. It sounds like you don't feel the ads you see are relevant to your interests.
Have a look at this article: Opt out of interest-based ads in the App Store and Apple News. You may have opted out of interest based ads at one time. You can check inside Settings > Privacy > Advertising and see if Limit Ad Tracking is switched on. If it is, switch it off to see ads that may be more to your liking. Removing ads entirely from the News app is not an option.
