iphone 11 waterproof

So my dad bought me a iphone 11 for Christmas and i was extremely grateful and i thought it was meant to be waterproof so i took it in the shower with me and then once i get out i start to play music to find that one of the speakers is cracking and has been doing it for a while now. I have also watched videos of people putting it in pools without cases. Does this mean there was a manufacturing error with my phone?

It means the chances of total device failure are very significantly *reduced* under pressures equivalent to 2 meters below water (approx 2.8 psi). Above that pressure the risk of failure significantly increases. Water pressure from home faucets often run in the 40-60psi range.

as it stands, no smartphone is ready to be used in the shower. See also the notes about exposure to detergents and soaps. It is a just-in-case feature, not a main line one.

Water damage is not covered by warranty, so I would stop using and power down the phone for a day to let it dry and pray nothing more than the speaker gets affected
