Image Capture malfunction

Since upgrading to Catalina, I've experienced all kinds of glitches and some more serious issues. The latest being that I can no longer scan photos to my 'Photos' app. Every time I get this message: "The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.imagecapture error 4294957394.) (-9902)"

It is extremely frustrating and it doesn't bode well in my case for future iOS! Makes me mad!

With my limited IT knowhow, I've tried everything I could think of, as well as followed others' suggestions on this community. To no avail!

Hi Old Toad (great) - are you saying Image Capture is no longer compatible with iPhones? Or not compatible with Catalina?

Image Capture is the method I use to move photos from my iPhone to my iMac Pro. Are you telling me I can no longer do that, or did I misunderstand?

I ask, because I just plugged my iPhone into my iMac Pro, opened Image Capture, and it will NOT connect to my iPhone (Xs Max), Software version 12.4). Does 13.3 fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Neither. Image Capture is included in the Catalina system software and is compatible with both the system and iPhones. It is not compatible with Photos.

You should be running the latest iOS system on your iPhone. That should let the iPhone be seen by Image Capture and Photos.

In High Sierra Image Capture can scan directly into both iPhoto and Photos. Other scanning software like VueScan can only save to the hard drive.
