Defective hard drive Macbook pro 17" 2011

good day all,


I have defective hard drive on my mac and I replaced it, but actually i could't install the os when i stat the mac it kept showing grey page ,I tried internet recovery but it did't work.


any idea please.

If you can’t get into Internet Recovery, then your only option might be creating a bootable MacOS installer on a USB drive.

Did you format the new drive?


Disk Utility>View>Show All Device


from Internet Recovery (option command R)

from bootable USBinstaller

from a Time Machine backup drive (option key when booting up)
