I have a new Mac but I can't get iTunes to work and sync my iphone

I have a new Macbook pro. I can't get iTunes to work.... its now just 'music'. I plugged my iPhone in but its doesn't sync....

MacBook Pro 16", macOS 10.15

If it is running Catalina OS, you have to use "Finder"
