Deleting apps
Hi. When I hold down on an app to delete it it only says edit home screen and share app. No delete app option comes up. I can’t find any control function limiting deleting apps. I have an iPhone XR

If it is a 3rd party app, you should see also "delete app".
If it is a "built-in" app, read here what apps you can delete (I really don't know why you would delete a built-in app):--> Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12, iOS 13, or iPadOS device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

I'm using an iPhone XR, running iOS 13.3, and that doesn't happen to my device. In the window I can see: Share, edit home screen AND "delete"
Have you already tried a forced restart of your iPhone?:--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support
I tried the forced restart and it didn’t work. Still doesn’t give me an option to delete app when I hold I only get two options if I click edit it only jiggles and has done when finished no delete button 😫
Using the same process, continue holding the icon for another second or two, this will allow deletion of the app.
Also note: with your initial procedure, if you select “Edit Home Screen”, that will allow deleting the app.
Good morning, Giulio.
Thanks so much. That worked. I had gone thru all settings looking for restrictions on deleting apps and couldn’t find one. Now I can delete all the stuff I don’t need. Yay. Really appreciate your help.
Please check: Settings - Screen Time - Content & Privacy Restrictions - iTunes & App Store Purchase - Deleting Apps = Allow?
Or simply turn off Screen Time.
Click Here:--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support
Read also these instructions, please:--> How to delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

They are 3 rd party apps but delete doesn’t come up as an option when I hold it. Only edit home screen and share app. That’s my problem 😞
Good catch, Stedman1 !... forgot to mention it.
Thanks for your assistance.
Giulio
No haven’t tried a forced restart. What’s the process to do it please?
even when I edit it only gives me option to move and has a done button. Nothing to delete it. I’ll try a forced restart if I get directions and see if that helps. Thanks
You’re quite welcome.
Apple did make it to be quite a few more steps to find Restrictions in the newer version of iOS.
Enjoy.
