podcast approval

Hey there-

We were approved by apple podcasts last Friday, but as of this morning our podcast is still not able to be found when we type in the title to iTunes search bar. Any ideas why this might be? Our URL works and brings us to the show's page on iTunes but when we enter in the show title into search it does not come up. Is this delay just due to the holidays and should we wait a bit longer? Or is there something we should be doing?

Thanks so much!

Colleen

Typically it takes about a week for a show to be indexed once approved. Once indexed then it is in the search results.

But note - Search results are based on the title of the show and then sorted by the total number of subscribers all time. If your title is very generic and the words in your title are in many other shows - you might not ever show up in the search results or at least not until you drive many people to Apple Podcasts to subscribe to your show.

When you have a question please start your own thread - hijacking someone else's can lead to confusion.

And to answer your question, no, once your podcast is approved all you need to do is to add episodes to the feed. No other action is necessary. Subscribers will see new episodes pretty well immediately but it can take a couple of days for new episodes to appear in the Store (so don't panic if they don't appear promptly).
