On My Mac Folder in Mail
I have quite a few folders in the On My Mac folder in Mail containing e-mails I want to keep. How do I back them up in case my computer crashes or I get a new Mac?
iMac 21.5", macOS 10.13

As far as I know it works with TimeMachine https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250983241
It is possible to export mailboxes https://support.apple.com/guide/mail/import-or-export-mailboxes-mlhlp1030/mac
Think about making mailboxes on your provider-location. It might be more comfortable
Sorry, pasted the wrong link. Here's the one I wanted to paste https://support.apple.com/guide/mail/restore-mailboxes-and-their-content-mail15172/mac
I would suppose they would be backed up by Time Machine or any other backup program if they are on your Mac, stored locally.
You can Export the mailboxes to an external disk drive to manually back them up.
