Struggling to restore from a backup on computer

My daughter is struggling to restore a backup from her Mac to her iPhone.

What is the extent of struggle?


  • Where is she facing the difficulty?
  • Is the backup encrypted and has she forgotten the encryption password? In that case there is nothing any one can do. She needs to keep trying to get the password on her own as there are no limits on number of attempts on encrypted backup password. Good luck!
  • Is he not able connect to her iPhone?
  • Is her Mac does not recognise her device.


Use your USB lightening cable --> Resolve USB-related alerts in iTunes - Apple Support


If unable to connect --> If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support


Use genuine cable --> Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories ...
