I bought a used IMac and I am unable to update the computer because the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID.
How do I reset the ID, so I can set up mine?

Did the former owner erase the computer and set it up again? If not, you need to do that to make it 'your' computer. Start with step 6.
