A global issue for iphone x with 13.3 software !!

Hello everyone,

hope you’re doing great :)

I’ve just updated my iphone X software to 13.3 and i’ve lost both cameras and the flash light :’(

i’ve made all the troubleshooting mentioned everywhere concerning software.

even to flushing the software again through itunes and the issue persists.

the shocking news is that i found another discussion for other users that had the same issue as well so it should be a trigger for apple to take corrective actions towards it.

does any body has any news regarding that case ?

Hello again ,

this is the latest update,

i’ve made a visit to tradeline store and When i told them that i have an issue with the face id, both cameras and the flash they confirmed without making any troubleshooting that this is aN issue that occurs and the reason is the motherboard and the only resolution is to make an exchange which can not be done in my country !!!

so let me wrap up this and summarize it, I received the latest update 13.3 and right after installing it it cracked my face id, both cameras and the flash light ( i’m not the only user with the same issue but not all users are affected ) and now the only solution i have is to travel abroad and may be i can have my device exchanged !

do you have any other suggestions??

“ tradeline “ is the authorized service provider in my country and their advise was to send my device with any of my friends to Dubai hoping that they may have it replaced at Dubai.

it can not be repaired as the technician said it’s a motherboard issue that can not be repaired.

i bought the device from Kuwait. However that is not supposed to make any difference, it’s an original device :)

this is definitely not a happy new year for me :’(

Well, I am sorry, but we are all other users. We do not work for Apple and we do not represent Apple, so we cannot do anything except try to send you to the right place, which is difficult. I do not know your country and I do not know the laws in your country or Apple's terms as I live in the US. Personally, I cannot think of anything you can do except try to reinstall which may not work if you were told that the motherboard has failed.

this a discussion for a similar issue , i was just looking for a solution before having to go to the nearest provider if there is any thing that can be applied from home instead of having to go there as i’ll be probably requested to pay in order to resolve the issue.https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8549894

i’m going tomorrow and will update you then :)

Well, Apple warranties do include that service may be limited to the country the device was purchased in. So, is Kuwait where you are trying to get service? And did you buy it from Apple or an authorized reseller?

Arguing with other users will not result in any tangible help because we are not able to help. We do not work for Apple, so we cannot do anything except send you to Apple for hardware issues.

At this point, it would be best to contact Apple, either use the contact support link in the upper right corner or do take it to an Apple store or call them (I do not know the number for your country since I do not know your country) and present your problem to them. Sorry we could not help.

By the way, I have never heard of any software update that would cause such widespread hardware issues. Your link to another thread may or may not be related, but if it is, that would make two problems out of over 3 million users here.

I already told you that i contacted apple who requested to visit the authorized seller who advised to take my device and travel to Dubai to have it exchanged !

By the way, if you checked the thread i provided the URL for you would have discovered that we're not only 2 users !

Also if you never heard of any software update that would cause such widespread hardware issues, you might need to dig further as this is not the 1st time for apple and there are more than one case that is very easy to find if you used google.

Anyways, I'm glad to be the first one to let you know that it's possible :)

Finally, it seems I'm not getting any help or support here, even your 1st reply which is totally not considered as an answer has been marked as answer and I'm not sure who marked it as so for my question.

I'll communicate with apple through the proper communication channel for feedback and see if my feedback would even be processed and if they truly care about their customer/s experience or if it's something for media and propaganda.

Thank you for your time @babowa

Happy New Year
