What is LogMein control panel

I upgraded my MacAir to High Sierra today at the Apple store and when I got home and tried to start working on it again there was a request to allow LogMein to have control of my computer. What is this??

LogMeIn is software for remotely accessing other computers.

Is this computer owned or being managed by your school or employer?

Run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper. EtreCheck will provide information on the software installed in case there are any other surprises and I believe it also reports the date this software was installed.

If you or your school or your employer did not install this software, then you should uninstall it according to the developer's instructions located here.

You should also check to make sure there are no new user accounts exist within Users & Groups System Preferences and you should make sure to check out the "Sharing" System Preferences to make sure remote access is disabled as well as making sure File Sharing is turned off.

If this is your own private computer and you never intentionally installed this software, then you either accidentally acquired it from a malicious link or someone else has installed it.
