After pairing and use Beats Solo 3 will not reconnect to iPhone 7 or any device

I have a Bears Solo 3. It pairs fine with my iPhone initially and I am able to use. And it shows up as connected on my MacBook via iCloud but not the AppleTV. The latter might be due to the fact we have too many iCloud accounts on the AppleTV - but I am able to pair it with the AppleTV manually.

However, after using the headphones and turning them off they will not reconnect to the iPhone or any other device. I have done all of the suggested "fixes" on the Beats website and Apple's support pages, including:

• Forgetting the device and pairing them again.
• Factory resetting the headphones per the Beats website and pairing again.
• I have paired them only with the iPhone to make sure that the there isn't "interference" from another device. (A different brand of Bluetooth headphones I had would connect to the last device used which was a pain.)

With each "fix" the headphones work again for just the initial use. But when they are turned off - or I leave the house with the iPhone and the paring is disconnected due to distance - they will not reconnect.

Beats Solo 3 still appears in the list of devices. When I try to maually conect via the Bluetooth preferences, I get an alert to make sure they are turned on and close enough to the device.

Oddly, is this was not an out of the box issue. I was able to use the headphones for days after purchase. Initially, they would automatically pair with the iPhone when turning on. This problem only started after I paired them with the AppleTV and tried to connect them with my MacBook Air (which would not connect even though they were paired via iCloud.)

It is very frustrating. Am I missing anything?

I have an iPhone 7 running 13.3 OS and my Mac OS is 10.14.6. AppleTV automatically updates and did so recently. (I hate the new interface BTW)
