i brought iTunes card yesterday and it is saying gift certificate or prepaid card code you entered has not been properly activated please contact customer support

Try a New Card - Ask the Seller:
Wherever you purchased this card, take it back to the seller, and request an exchange. Right after the transaction goes through, add it right then-and-there at the cash register.
Ask the people at the store the gift card came from or the iTunes Store staff for assistance.
