how can i stop my emails and text from going to my husbands phone as well as mine he has an 8 plus i have a XR , we have always had a shared Apple ID, this didn’t happen with his I phone 6

My husband got a 8 plus today and now he is receiving all my email and texts. On his old 6 this wasn’t happening. We have a shared Apple ID but did before as well. How do I stop this ? I have XR phone

Hello,

The best approach is for one of you to get a new Apple ID. They are not meant to be shared. You might be able to temporarily solve your current problems, but going forward, they are going to keep coming up:

Create and start using an Apple ID

You stop this by NOT sharing an Apple ID. You should both have your own Apple ID and then use Family Sharing to share apps, etc.
