Catalina made my iMovie inaccessible!

After I downloaded Catalina, I can no longer access my iMovie or Final Cut. It says there is a new upgrade on applications but when I download it, it says I don't need the upgrade? As always, totally confused.

Thanks in advance for your help.

IMovie not installed as part of MacOS upgrade Hi, I have just upgraded my wife's veteran MBA which was running under 10.13 (High Sierra) to 10.15 (Catalina). All seemed to perform OK but then I noticed the total absence of iMovie. The original iMovie app will not work under Catalina as it was not 64bit. I downloaded a fresh Catalina and installed it to no avail... still no iMovie. There may well be other "bits" missing but I've not checked as yet. Can anyone please shed some light on this oddity and maybe advise how I can iMovie in there again? Very many thanks TT

I just updated to Catalina on a Macbook Pro and still am not getting iMovie to work, any suggestions? I've updated to Catalina and iMovie still isn't working, the claim is that it needs to be updated, but when I go to the app store, no updates are possible. I'm lost on what to do, I thought Catalina would take care of this?

What version of iMovie and Final Cut ( Pro X ??) do you have now?

You may have to drag the applications to the Trash ,but don't empty just yet, and go to your Purchased page in the App Store and re download.Original Apple ID used is required.

If OK then empty trash, if not then drag applications back out of the Trash.
