No “people” tab in “find my” app

Hey community.

Can anyone help? There is no “people” in “find my” app and therefore I am unable to find my friends through this app. In addition, I am unable to download the find my friends app as it says it’s not compatible with this iPhone 7 but says it is compatible with this device.

I just want to see friends locations in messages again 😔

Hello pulstulil,

If I'm understanding you right, you're not seeing the People tab in the Find My app, and you've been unable to download the Find My Friends app on your iPhone. I know how convenient it is to be able to locate and share your location with your friends on your devices. I'm happy to help you out with this.

As you'll see in the following support article, if you're running iOS 13 on your iPhone you would not be able to download the Find My Friends app anymore.: If Find My Friends isn't working. Find My Friends is not available for iOS 13, and Find My would be used instead. As far as you not seeing the People tab in the Find My app, that could be based off of which country you're located in. As mentioned in Share your location with your family, location sharing isn't supported in South Korea. Also, location sharing might not be available in other regions due to local laws. Even if you aren't actually located in one of those countries, it might still affect you if your iPhone was originally purchased from one of those countries.

If you're located in a country that does support location sharing, and your device was purchased in a country that supports it, try out these steps:

  1. Restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone.
  2. Update to iOS 13.3 if you aren't already running that version: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  3. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If this is enabled, make sure Location Services is set to Allow.
  4. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, and make sure it's enabled there.
  5. See if you're able to locate your friends by logging in here: https://www.icloud.com/fmf/.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If you need continued support with this, respond back letting me know if you were able to Find Friends web app on iCloud.com.

Take care.

Thank you so much!

This has been the most helpful answer so far. I guess my phone was originally purchased from another country and therefore this location sharing is not allowed. I have tried every suggestion and every thing possible from my location New Zealand and this seems to be the only conclusion. Thank you so much I really appreciate your thorough help
