Erase and reinstall OS

I want to restore my Mac to factory settings so I erased the HD but I now have a Container disk2 that I can’t reinstall the software to. How do I get the HD to appear again?

Boot the Mac into recovery mode, then use the Disk Utility to repartition the hard drive.

Disc Utility problem while reinstalling I bought a secondhand M1 macbook pro and i followed a tutorial from which i deleted my Macintosh HD and MHD - Data. Now it is showing Apple SSD and container disc 3 instead of it and i don’t know what to keep and what to delete to reset my macbook completely as a new. Running on Big Surr

Should I erase both containers for a factory reset ? Intel w Big Sur I am doing a factory reset to sell and erased the Macintosh HD Volume Group but I noticed when I went back in and 'viewed all devices' that there is also a CONTAINER DISK2 showing MacinstoshHD and a capacity of 121GB but only 51GB available space (which tells me there is still data stored on the machine somewhere) Question is: should I do also go through the process and erase the Macintosh HD in this Container Disk2 as well before 'reinstalling the OS'? I just want everything erased and gone as if it was a brand new laptop. Thanks~
