my “arrow” cursor has gone and i have one that looks like an “I” or on apple core. my mac book is not taking any commands since there is no cursor. what. is go ing on.

My curser “Arrow” has disappeared and there is now an icon that looks like an “I” or perhaps an apple core.

i can’t get my Mac Book pro to take any commands and can’ t even shut it down.

What is going on?

Arrow turned into plus sign on Macbook My cursor arrow changed into a plus sign and I can’t get it back to an arrow. It turns back into an arrow over the toolbar but when I click on anything (like clicking to restart or shut down) it turns back into a plus sign and doesn’t do anything. So I’m stuck, even can’t turn it off. This happened after I looked at and took a screenshot of a map. I was spreading my fingers trying to enlarge sections of the map. When I spread my fingers, blue dots forming a rectangle appear. How do I get my arrow back?

Constantly disappearing cursor I have a brand new MacBook Air. It is very frustrating that this very expensive computer cannot perform such a simple function as to have the cursor work properly. I have not been able to find a solution. My cursor disappears EVERY SINGLE TIME I turn on my computer. What the heck? I am up to date on updates

That is the text input cursor.

It has been changed by the active (frontmost) Application.
