Apple Pay says hold closer

My IPhone 7 is on 13.3 and Apple Pay isn’t working. I added another card thinking that was the issue. The thumb recognition comes up ready to take thumb print then says hold closer. Will not work. Anyone else had this and found a fix? Or any ideas 💡

Hi, we cannot troubelshoot NFC issues here. IF a forced reboot does not resolve it (Restart your iPhone - Apple Support) then you need to make an appointment at your nearest Apple Store Genius Bar for an evaluation.
