How can I edit a dance video so that the only things that are in focus are my hands?
I'm editing a video and i'd like the entire video to be blacked out other than the hands...
A sample would be helpful.
Do you really want all of the video Black except the hands? Or do you want to Blur / deFocus the rest of the frame except the hands?
Either way, most likely you will be applying a Mask of some sort; circle/oval/rectangle, and applying a black background or simply adding a Color Correction outside of mask or applying one of the available blur effects outside of mask. This is simple to do inside of FCPX.
It is also quite likely that you will need to track the hands or add keyframes for position of the mask to keep your mask centered on the hands.
Most likely someone has already created the effect you want so you might want to look for a plug-in.
