How do I delete pro search tip in google chrome?

How do I delete Pro Search Tip from Google Chrome? It has become my default page when I open a tab. My default search engine is now: search1703548-a.akamaihd.net, and I cannot delete it. Deleted from extensions--it is still there. Reset Chrome--still there. Any help appreciated.

I ran malwarebytes (free edition) and it spotted 13 items and required reboot. The "search1703548-a.akamaihd.net" is still default, so I ran it again and caught 2 items, but it's still there. Weird part is that I've removed Bing from the search engine lists and that's what is being used. The only one remaining is google.

IF Leroy's suggestion did not help, you may consider contacting Google support, as Chrome is not an Apple product.
