I cannot go into a full month view from the day view on my Series 5 watch. If you look at the screen shot the < arrow is missing in the upper left corner before Today that would normally take you to the full month view. It works fine on my series 3 watch. Both watches are on the same release 6.1.1.
Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?

Went to the user guide and found the solution. For the Series 4, 5 it works differently. On the today view without he < press down and hold until a selection for the view comes up.
From the documentation:
While you’re viewing events in the Calendar app 
on your Apple Watch, you can switch between views by pressing firmly, then tapping an option:
To see the whole month, tap < in the top-left corner of any daily calendar. Tap the monthly calendar to return to Today view.
To see another day, swipe left or right if you’re in Today view; if you’re in List view or Up Next view, turn the Digital Crown.
To jump back to the current day and time, firmly press the display, then tap Today.
Once you make the selection it will default to this for future selections.

I remember when I got my first Apple Watch (an original) We saw a month view, but over time, it would seem it has disappeared. I would check the Watch user guide for any additional information, but again, I don't remember seeing it in some time, and I've had a Series 0, Series 3, 4, and now 5 of the Watches. No telling how far back it went in watchOS for that change. But like you said, it is even more strange that it is available on the Series 3 with the same watchOS as the 5.

Funny you say that you can see it on the Apple Watch Series 3. I've not seen the month view on the Watch is some time. I don't think I have ever seen it on my Series 5 to be honest.
Thanks again for your reply. My wife has a Series 4 and the month view is missing on hers as well. Maybe Apple will give it back in a future release.
