Two-factor Verification When Your Apple Device IS the Single Point Of Failure
I'd like to suggest that Apple enhance the two-factor verification to include sending verification code to email address. The process works well if you have more than one Apple device but it's woefully bad if you only use one Apple device. I attempted to turn off two-factor verification and discovered that I couldn't.
So, if I ever lose my device or if it's stolen there will be no way for me to access my account unless I purchase another Apple device, as far as I know. That's unacceptable!
I use a Windows desktop and I cannot access my icloud account without my iphone because that's where the verification code is sent. I cannot access my icloud account from work because I cannot use my mobile phone in my work area.
Adults need to be able to make choices that best suit their needs. I tried to add my home phone to my icloud account but I can't text message from my home phone so that's not an option. My iphone is the single point of failure and two-factor verification is not an option that I would use but I'm forced to use it. :-)
