Mac Pro 2019 - Samsung 49-Inch CRG90 Curved Gaming Monitor

I've been having issues with restarting and booting with the Samsung CRG90 monitor plugged in. When I only have my BenQ monitor plugged in, it's fine. Then I can plug the Samsung in and everything runs fine despite some random glitches after it's first plugged in. This monitor is perfect for my video editing setup as I love the real estate for my timeline etc. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone figured out a fix. I'm willing to return it if anyone can recommend another big widescreen monitor that is working with the latest Mac Pro. Thank you in advance!

I'm using extended desktop. I'm only using the Display Port now because I couldn't utilize the full resolution on the Samsung. I've also unplugged the Samsung from the thunderbolt 3 to display port adapter and plugged it into the CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 hub. I'm not experiencing the flickering as of yet and have successfully restarted a couple of times. It's very likely that the issue was with the adapter I was using (made by Cable Matters). So far so good... I'll keep this thread updated as to any new developments.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

I have managed to get the system to restart (rebooting and monitors turn on with proper log in screen). I'm not happy with the workaround. The way I've managed to make it work is to start up with just my BenQ monitor, then plug in my Samsung with either HDMI or Display Port (via Thunderbolt 3 to Display Port adapter), open display preferences and making the BenQ the main desktop (with the menu bar on the top). Now restarting and cold starting seems to work. I do however get flickering on my Samsung (attached is a photo that shows a band running horizontally down the middle of the screen. I had to video record in order to capture the flicker and pull a screen grab.). Also, if my monitors go to sleep, when I wake them up, my windows are messed up, resized and piled into the BenQ monitor.

Just got off of the phone with Samsung Support. They told me that this is a known issue with some of their Samsung monitors and Macs. It's a driver problem on the Mac supporting some of their monitors including this one. Now to only figure out if there will be a driver update on the next OS update and when we should be expecting this. I have until January 30th to return the Samsung monitor for a full refund.
