Battery says %100 but won’t hold charge

I have a mid-2010 MacBook that I just put a new battery in less than a year ago. I went on a trip and while I was gone my laptop was exposed to some sub-freezing temperatures. Now it won’t run without the power adapter and says the battery needs to be replaced immediately.

I’ve tried resetting the PRAM via command+option+P+R. I’ve tried resetting the SMC by disconnecting the power source and battery and holding the power button for 10 seconds. No luck with either.

The battery info is as follows:

Charge Remaining: 5289

Fully Charged: Yes

Charging: No

Full Charge capacity: 5289

Cycle count: 87

Condition: Replace now

Amperage: 0

voltage: 5635

anyone got any helpful ideas?

MacBook, macOS 10.12
