Folder window & file images slide to the right

When folders or text/spreadsheet files are opened everything is aligned correctly to the left and then as I move the cursor the image slowly slides to the right so what was on the left is now off the visible window. It's particularly annoying when using spreadsheets when one has to keep moving the cells back again. I have searched other support solutions but not found a solution yet, assuming there is one.

On the latest Catalina with a brand new iMac and a MacBook Air a couple years old. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Check System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom and make sure you haven't zoomed in to the screen.

Thanks but there's nothing clicked in the Zoom feature. When I said the image slowly slides to the right - that's probably not the best description. In a folder window the right arrow symbol (>) beside a folder moves off the to the left in one jump and then the folder symbol may slowly follow. Image inserted, which is a screenshot of part of a folder window, shows this effect. You can see the both the right arrow symbol and folder symbol have wandered off the screen. It's not a big deal, just annoying if you want to use the arrow symbol to open the folder.
