My phone freezes any time I use emojis in texts, Facebook, Instagram, etc. I’ve repeatedly removed the emoji keyboard and restarted; that works for about 3 minutes. It is very frustrating and seems to be getting worse. It also did it when I had my 6s plus.

To start, make sure you’re running the latest iOS version:

If that doesn’t help, I suggest reinstalling iOS. While this shouldn’t delete any information from your device, it’s a good idea to make a backup first:
