Prevent kids from turning off screen time

I have set screen time limits however my oldest child knows he can simply go to Screen Time in Settings and “Turn off Screen Time” to circumvent the time limits I have set. Apple doesn’t require a passcode to turn it off, which would solve my problem. Am I missing something in requiring a passcode to turn off or another setting to truly set time

limits on my kids’ iPads?

You can set up a passcode for screentime

there are instructions at the link

just don't ever forget that passcode beause the only way around it is to totally wipe the device and restore it back as if it were new
