2019 MacBook Pro Cursor Keeps Going Invisible

Ever since I got my Mac My mouse will disappear every single time I go into a "fullscreen" state so when I exit out of fullscreen my cursor is no longer visible yet I can still move it around blindly and interact with things on the screen. Sometimes when I'm inactive and my screen is on for even less than 2 minutes my cursor disappears and poof, there it goes; invisible again! The only thing that I can do to fix it is to close my macbook and open it again and my cursor comes back but this is only a very short term fix and I'm looking for rather a solution instead of a fix.

MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.14

This is happening with me as well, mostly within the last three weeks. 2019 13" MacBook Pro. Cursor disappears moments after unlocking/signing in. The only fix is to close the laptop and open back up. It's extremely frustrating. Connected to WiFi and typically nothing plugged in, including power.

I've seen the same thing happen with some of our organization's Macs. The last time it happened I was able to easily get the pointer back by moving the pointer blindly to the upper left corner of the screen then clicking on the menubar. For some unknown reason clicking on the left side of the menubar brings back the pointer, but clicking on the right side of the menubar does not work (even though the mouse does interact with the items on the right side of the menubar).

I've also seen macOS still think there is an external display present even when nothing is connected to the laptop. I've been able to "find" the pointer again by moving the pointer far to the right or left to bring it back to the laptop's built-in screen.

As someone else mentioned earlier in this thread macOS "Spaces" may also be interfering with the pointer.

This is absolutely absurd.. same situation here. I thought this was a problem of the past as I had this issue on my 2012 macbook pro. But for this to still be an issue in 2020?! It hasn't even been a week since I picked this up brand new and decided to check out apple tv. Low and behold I tried to fullscreen a show and my stomach dropped when the cursor was not retrievable. As others have mentioned, I have to three finger it to show desktop first then two finger click blindly on the screen and it"usually" reappears. Sometimes that doesn't even work and I have to wiggle it more back to life. It's such a minute problem but it's so insanely frustrating. How a tiny CURSOR can derail the user experience so much but moreover, how this issue still stumps the so called geniuses at apple is beyond me... I mean it's 2020 fer chrissakes, fullscreen media is practically a necessity across all platforms... But apparently its the achilles heel for $2000+ apple products...

Cursor disappearing when using a "Full Screen" display is not uncommon because of the way "Full Screen" works internally. The feature was reverse-ported from the iPhone, land of tiny screens and one-at-a-time processing.
