Firefox is displaying favicons on Google search!!!

Firefox started displaying favicons on Google search. At the start I thought it was the Google behavior, but was not, as Safari doesn't show. I searched online and there was no answer. I know its not an Apple product, but still being used by millions Apple users. Does anyone knows how to get rid of this nonsense?

How can you spend 3 days trying to find out who the developer of Firefox is?

It's one on the single best known browsers out there.

A 5 second Google search would have pointed you to the right place.

But since that seems to be difficult for you, go here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings?utm_source=mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=fix-problem-link

Kilted, if I would have known the developer, I would not ask the community as I know this is not an Apple product.

I can point out to you one million non-related Apple product questions that have been answered by a community, including myself. For example, go and check FCP users support yourself and find out about the third party plugin questions. I hope you are not going to suggest to hundreds of Apple FCPX users to go to the developers, you are going to be hated for sure. I personally thank you for your support and for your time to give me a solution, which would not really help, because I already spent 3 days on it.

Have a nice day.

Geez Apple & Macs would be dead without 3rd party apps.

Sounds like a google experiment...

I used adblocker plus to block the element on the page with their custom filters.

Here is a quick guide I created. Of course if Google renames the favicon class this filter wont' work anymore and you'd have to update it. But so far it's working fine for me.

BDAqua, you solved my 3 days of wasting time problem. What was amazing that I did have Addblock Plus, and it did not stop. So I followed the suggested link on the site that you recommended and that blocked all the favicons. Now FF browser is clean.

What really puzzled me that my other iMac FireFox did not display favicons, or it had the newest Addblocker.

Thank you again, BDAqua. I am glad that Apple community have support from people like you! And I think that Apple should give you a huge bonus.

Thanks Kilted, I used your suggested "Refresh FF" a few years ago, then I lost all my bookmarks, extensions plus everything else, even though it did say that everything remains the same. It was a few years ago, and I did not wish to take another chance.

P.S. If you read the BDAqua solution, the REfresh Firefox would not help, as this is Google behavior in FireFox

You did not only save big bucks, but you helped Apple to get more clients. All these years I suggested many of friends who were using Windows, to switch to Apple not only because it was wirus free, but because of Apple community support. And they did. Thanking me that it felt much better not only to have a great product, but to move the support from India to US. :0)
