‘No Signal’ usually means that the TV is not receiving a signal over the HDMI connection. So verify that connection, by unplugging on both ends, and then reconnecting.

If you get a screen image from the Apple TV, and it is not reacting, then that could be related to the remote, and its pairing/linking to the box. The box would ignore commands from unpaired/unlinked remotes.
Thank you. Tried all that. I have some reruns on the TV now and will try to remember exactly what series of buttons I pressed this time. There is a box that was added. I don't see any serial number on it. I'm ignoring it now and will ask him to take it back and use it for his own TV.
Thank you Urquhart1244. So far, I'm looping from No Signal to an input screen that does not react. I'll see if I can find out how to actually see something entertaining instead of just frustrating.
