Unable to change display brightness on Windows 10

Good day all,

I've been running Win 10 on my Macbook Pro Mid 2012 for a few years now and every once in a while the dimmed display issue pops up. I'm not having any success in getting the laptop display brightness to increase this time.

Running Boot Camp 6.0

I'm not sure what triggered this bout of dimmed brightness - I think there may have been some software update in December and I only booted into Windows now again.

I've downloaded the GeForce Experience application and it installed the latest driver but still no joy.

I have disabled the Windows setting for automatically adjusting the brightness.

Will appreciate your thoughts or similar experiences on this.

Cheers

Thanks for all the assistance Loner - I appreciate it.

So I wanted to try an SMC reset before downloading the drivers through Boot Camp in OSX. Misclicked and instead of doing the reset I actually booted the laptop into the default OS which is Windows. 'lo and behold - problem solved...

So I am none the wiser at this point but glad it's sorted.
