Finder / Folder Content not refreshing when copying and creating files.

This is the same issue as https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8584001

That thread should not be closed as this is still an outstanding bug in OS X.

Finder does not update files. It's been 20 minutes and counting since exporting an audio file to desktop that doesn't show up. This happens all the time.

The only "solution" recommended in that thread is to delete a plist file from Library/Prefrerences -- what do you know, that did nothing for me. Big surprise. So what am I supposed to do?

This is seriously impeding my workflow. I paid *way* too much for my MacBook Pro to have to tolerate this weak nonsense. This is pathetic.

trouble shoot further you can:

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and test. Reboot and test will take a little longer as caches get rebuilt.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
