Do the 2019 Mac Pro PCIe slots work with PCIe 2.0 cards?

Hi.

In my 2010 Mac Pro, I've been running an Addonics Quad mSATA PCIe card (AD4MSPX2). The tech specs on the card say it is a PCIe 1.0 and 2.0 card.

Now that I have a 2019 Mac Pro, I was wondering if the card will work in the new computer? The only thing I can find on the 2019 Mac Pro is that the PCIe slots are 3rd generation. Is PCIe backward compatible?

Thanks.
