Applying sharing and permissions privileges takes a long time, trying to change the EDID profile. (Dell U2410)

I need to connect my Mac book pro to my Dell U2410 monitor. The problem began when realize that the computer does not recognize RGB data properly from monitor. I search on internet to solve this issue and I found a way to override and force the RGB data to being understandable to my computer by an EDID file. On Youtube I found a way to do this.

On the tutorial, the youtuber explains how to create a file in system/library/displays/contents/resources/overrides

to create a profile to solve the RGB data problem. But on my Mac I could not copy the file to the folder, so I try to apply sharing and permissions privileges to this folder system/library/displays/contents/resources/overrides on my user. I try to apply this permission via >>Get info>>Sharing & Permissions>> Apply to enclose items...

It was very frustrating to me realize how much time it takes. I have been waiting almost 24 hs. to get this permission to continue the process of the task.

I really don't know if I have done something wrong, but I need at least to stop this process to continue work with my computer.
