Setting up ultrawide monitors

Im using 2017 macbook pro 15 inch, and i'm trying to setup a 32 inch ultra wide monitor along with a smaller regular monitor for work reasons. I have setup multiple monitors with this computer and this setup before and it has always worked until I started using the ultra wide.

When both are connect it shows this

VGA + HDMI and it mirrors the screens without giving me the "arrange" option.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or if this is even possible with this computer?

My computer only mirrors on a second monitor I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13-inch. I’ve connected a second monitor, but it only mirrors the main screen. I cannot get it to work as extended “second” screen. There is no option in my display settings for arrangement. Any advice?

Extended monitor for macbook pro keeps trying to mirror my macbook display My external monitor is bugging out. Its set as an extended display but it keeps trying to mirror the display for my macbook. Whenever I switch to another screen on my macbook, my monitor will switch screens too but it will be completely black though. Has anyone else faced this problem? Below is a sc of what my settings look like : My monitor is clearly set as an extended display but does not behave as one. All the windows that are open on my macbook will be open on my monitor as well in the mission control. However none of the windows are actually accessible on my monitor. I cant place any apps or windows on my monitor at all
