149 images in iCloud. What does this mean? Where do I find them? When I click download, I get messages from various senders

Hi,

Please see the screen shot below from an iPhone X 13.3.

What does the message mean "x images in iCloud"?

When I click to down load, I get images from various senders.

I don't see these images in iCloud in Photos.

The genesis of my question is based on clearing out space in my iCloud account. But I'm stumped as to what the "149 images in iCloud" really means.

A Silverstone,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am glad you found this article helpful. I want to make sure you feel sure you have all the answers you need.

The reason these messages are not viewable in Photos on iCloud, is because they are photos that were sent and saved via the Messages history and backup. All of your attachments are stored in iCloud, so you can save space on your device.

When you turn off Messages on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can choose to turn off Messages in iCloud for just that device or all of your devices. Any device where Messages in iCloud is still turned on continues to store what you send and receive from that device in iCloud.

As previously mentioned, "if you turn off Messages in iCloud on an iPhone or iPad, your message history will be included in a separate iCloud backup." Keep all your messages in iCloud

I hope this helps, and thanks for your time!
