song count for itunes and on music library on phone not matching up

I have iphone 11 and it was brand new not factory refurbished or used. I transferred all my music but song count was off by about 43 songs. I looked at all artists and albums they both matched up on both itunes and my phone. All except one live album of 9 songs. The songs were already on a regular release non-live by the artist. I can't figure out what other songs didn't transfer because I haven't looked through every album yet to check that every song transferred. So far all the songs I have looked through match up on my phone to itunes and the songs are not greyed out for any of the songs. I never received any error message from itunes that any songs couldn't be converted. All the songs are all from CD's and some amazon downloads I transferred to my computer. None of the other amazon albums had problems transferring. None of the songs are from downloaded mp3's yet so it wouldn't be an issue of a downloaded and corrupted file or wrong file type converted. I never had this problem on older iphone models or ipods either with live and non-live albums with same songs but different versions. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re seeing a difference in the song count between your iPhone and iTunes. I’ll be happy to help with this.


To verify, you’re syncing your entire music library over to your iPhone, correct? It’s not selected artist or anything like that? If so, make sure iTunes is completely up to date and then sync your music over again. These steps can help:


Update to the latest version of iTunes

Sync iTunes content on PC with your devices 


Also, in that same article it guides you on adding items to your device manually, try manually syncing the live album of 9 songs and see if that works.


Also, restart your PC and iPhone and then attempt to sync again:
